Ballet & Pointe
The ballet technique strengthens core muscles to maintain alignment and proper form. Students receive hands-on training, which assists them in developing a greater awareness of their bodies and their movement potential. Ballet Creative serves as an introduction class for dancers to ballet technique, including the five positions of the feet, ballet posture, turns, leaps, and ballet vocabulary.
Pointe is the part of classical ballet in which a dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet within pointe shoes. Pre-Pointe classes prepare a dancer for the strength needed for Pointe work. We evaluate students' readiness for pointe before enrolling in a pre-pointe and pointe class. Pointe classes require registration for two hours of ballet a week. Classes teach the techniques for moving from flat to pointe.
