San Diego Danceworks was founded in 1990. Three years later, Barbara Rinaldo was appointed Studio Director and we moved our present location in North Clairemont. Throughout our 36 years of business Danceworks has become a cherished home for countless young dancers. We have many performance opportunities for our dancers throughout the year at numerous community events and our productions of The Nutcracker in Wonderland and The All School Recital.

We believe that dance as an art form develops the whole person not just the dancer. Our faculty is compassionate and knowledgeable, respecting individual body types and developmental needs. We actively encourage creativity and expression of feelings, giving students confidence in their ability to think for themselves, bring their ideas into actions, and grow as community members. The core values of San Diego Danceworks are Education, Empowerment, Collaboration, and Team Building.​
