About Us

San Diego Danceworks was established in 1993. We have Two dance studios and currently run classes for ages 2½ - adult. Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Creative Movement and Hip Hop. We perform at a number of events during the year. We have our annual recital in July and we perform at the San Diego County Fair. We also perform around the holidays at various venues around San Diego.

San Diego Danceworks Teaching Staff:

Barbara Rinaldo

Ballet, Modern Dance, Pointe, Children's classes

Barbara has taught ballet, modern dance and choreography for over twenty-five years. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet from the North Carolina School of the Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Michigan. She was Assistant Professor of Dance at Towson State University in Maryland for six years where she also served as Chairman of the Dance Department. Barbara has received choreographic grants from the Michigan State Council for the Arts, Towson State University, Meet the Composer, Inc and Morningside Festival in New York City.

Stuart Voytilla

Writing, Directing

Stuart is a writer, script consultant, and teacher of acting and screenwriting. He is co-founder (with Mark Redfield) of Redfield Arts Motion Picture Entertainment Company.

He also lectures about myth and genre, and teaches screenwriting at San Diego State University. He is the author of two critically acclaimed books on story structure and genre, Myth and the Movies and (with Scott Petri) Writing the Comedy Film.

Lindsay Brzenski

Lindsay Brzenski has been dancing since the age of nine. A San Diego Native she has studied at various studios throughout the city. She has recently graduated from UCSD with bachelor degrees in both Theatre and Dance. While at school she studied and performed with Patricia Rincon, Allyson Green, Tony Callahan and Jean Isaacs. Lindsay is skilled in various disciplines including Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, Ballroom, Salsa, Lyrical, and Tap.
